MISCHUNGSBESCHREIBUNG

Alejo Castro ist ein Produzent in der 5. Generation, dessen Familie seit über 200 Jahren Spezialitätenkaffee in Costa Rica anbaut. Zu seinen drei Farmen gehören Hacienda Colima, Volcan Azul und Hacienda La Union, die alle im West Valley von Coata Rica liegen. Der Kaffee wird auf reichhaltigen Böden angebaut, die von den Vulkanen Barva und Poas auf einer Höhe zwischen 1.400 und 1.700 m über dem Meeresspiegel stammen. Mittelstark geröstet ergibt sich eine harmonische Balance zwischen süß und herb, ergänzt durch eine subtile Note floraler Untertöne.

    Disappointing to say the least

    I thought I would give them a try. Even had to put my name down for a notification when they were back in stock. Order the same day I got the notification, so they should have been fresh. No roast date makes it hard to tell though.

    The smell and flavour of the natural process (fermented, funky, over ripe tropical fruit) was incredibly overpowering. I made a few shots to dial it in and try to make it better. Nothing worked, still undrinkable. The waste coffee in my knock bin was so pungent I had to take it straight to the bin.

    Gave the rest of the bag away and almost felt bad for the person I gave it to.

    Will not be buying again, that's for sure. Will think twice about Vittoria in general because of it. Bought because I was curious if Vittoria with all the tech and buying power could do a really good single, I got my answer.

    Terrible coffee

    Horrible taste. Beans not fresh. Threw the whole order out. Should have known better to buy this brand of coffee. Just horrible!

    Pour over perfection

    Perfect for my morning V60 brew. Very well balanced and you can really taste the fruit notes.
