The 2020 lineup includes leading labels; We Are Kindred, Macgraw, Faithful, Bec & Bridge, Alice McCall, The Upside, Sir The Label, Venroy, Insted We Smile, Albus Lumen and winner of the Whitehouse Institute Student Design Prize Madelyn Nichols.
Rolando Schirato, Managing Director of Vittoria Food & Beverage says of the 2020 Partnership, “Vittoria Coffee are proud to support the Australian fashion industry, particularly during this challenging time. This year we have partnered with some of Australia’s greatest designer talent. We are also proud to award the 2020 Vittoria Coffee Design Award and prize to Madelyn Nichols, a Whitehouse Institute of Design student, providing the opportunity for up-and-coming designers to be featured in the 2020 series alongside Australia’s top designers.”
We Are Kindred is one of the original designers from the first fashion series and has been a part of the Fashion series year on year. Their print emulates a nomadic gypsy feel inspired by the ultimate luxe bohemian Talitha Getty and her wild adventures. The terracotta rose paisley print that featured on the latest cup for Vittoria Coffee is a nod to wanderlust and carefree travels.
Eponymous label, Alice McCall, selected two prints from the 2020 Resort Collection that invites you into her cross-cultural time machine, landing you at the epicentre of romance and adventure. A new wave of cool is ruling the streets as kids step out in ruffled lace shirts and graphic prints, casually blending boyish with femme.
Bondi Born Venroy were influenced by the artworks of matisse and picasso.Their design depicts a continuous line drawing of repeated abstract faces. It embraces simplicity and empty space, capturing the face in an array of expressions. The artwork is a reproduction of a print that featured in the Venroy Mens Boardshort collection.
Contemporary womenswear label, SIR, chose the print Deladana Le Citron which pays homage to Portuguse folklore in a celebration of women worldwide and is an ode to the SIR woman herself. In these prints, SIR explores the empowerment of humanity, on both conscious and subconscious levels whilst taking a mystical look into tradition both past and present.
Macgraw’s print for the fashion series this year is infused with a sense of movement. Their Love Bird print hails from their collection ‘Aviary’ and was hand drawn by one half of the sister duo Tessa Macgraw in their Sydney Studio.
Feminine and vintage-inspired label, Faithfull the Label, features the Wyldie Animal Print, a highlight print in their RIVIERA collection inspired by the collections muse Bridgitte Bardot and her love affair with the French Riviera in the late 1950’s.
It-girl brand, Bec & Bridge
THE UPSIDE’s Icon Print was created in-house by their design team and references ancient tribal symbolism. The contrast of the classic palette of navy and white and the imperfect hand drawn charms speaks to THE UPSIDE’s love of astrology and mysticism.
Albus Lumen’s 2020 MBFW is an image captured in Maras, Peru whilst shooting a campaign. The rawness of the clotted clay wall which dates back to the Incan times resonates well with the brands appreciation and interest for natural textures.
Founded in 2012 by Luke Stedman, INSTED WE SMILE, brings a new perspective to Australian menswear. The print chosen for the collaboration is influenced by Stedmans flamboyant style mixed with his affinity to the ocean.
Madelyn Nichols was announced as the 2020 winner of the Vittoria Coffee Design Award at the Whitehouse Institute of Design. Nichols also receives a $5,000 to further her studies as part of the award, as well as the opportunity to be featured in the 2020 Vittoria Fashion Series alongside Australia’s leading designers.
The designer takeaway cups are available now from participating cafes and foodservice outlets Nationwide serving Vittoria Coffee, with limited-edition reusable and ceramic crockery available on vittoriacoffee.com from November 2020.
